Gary Birdwell is the Industry Executive Director for Oracle’s Energy & Utilities focused on industry strategy and market development for the energy value chain. Prior to returning to Oracle, Gary was with Noble Energy for 15 years as the Chief Information Officer. During his time at Noble, Gary led a complete modernization of all back-office systems, operational systems, and Noble’s move to the cloud. Prior to Noble, Gary held several positions at Oracle in the Industries Business Unit, the energy vertical, and sales. Earlier in his career, Gary worked for a major oilfield services company where he held multiple roles including Region Finance Manager for Asia, Australia, Pacific in Singapore, and subsequently leading information systems. Overall, Gary has worked directly in or in service of the oil & gas industry for over 40 years. He holds a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University.
