Sam graduated from Texas A&M University in 2018 with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. Following graduation, Sam worked at Corrpro as a corrosion engineer where he designed cathodic protection systems and performed field surveys and maintenance. After a year at Corrpro, Sam shifted my career to Plains All American where he worked as an Integrity Risk Engineer for 3 years. He credits this role with finding his love and aptitude for data science. The focus of the role was to integrate data from ILIs, GIS, USGS, and other sources in order to create an accurate risk assessment of our assets. Additionally, Sam acted as the point of contact and project lead for multiple data integration and software transition projects across Integrity and Operations. As of August, Sam has transitioned onto the Plains Marketing team as a Senior Marketing Analyst where he plans to learn the business of buying, shipping, selling, and trading oil and gas. Moreover, Sam is currently in his last year at the University of Houston where he will attain an M.S. in Business Analytics with a focus on data storage, management, and machine learning.
